Fall Cleanup 2024 – Households North of Fairbanks/Aloma Avenues
It’s that time of year again! Now is the time for fall cleaning just in time for the holidays. The City of Winter Park encourages residents to participate in the City’s annual Fall Cleanup which will be held during the month of November. The annual Fall Cleanup provides a “bonus” pickup day so that residents can dispose of old furniture, broken appliances, and other bulky items. (Curbside service customers only – no apartment complexes, businesses, or contractors)
To take advantage of this convenient service, residents must place their items curbside after 5:00 p.m. on the evening prior to their second regularly scheduled pickup day.
Households North of Fairbanks/Aloma Avenues – November 7 and 8
Households South of Fairbanks/Aloma Avenues – November 14 and 15
(Hazardous waste and yard waste are not included in the fall cleanup.)
**Construction debris and fencing are not included in the fall clean up.
Electronics Recycling
Computers and televisions are specifically targeted for recycling because of the high lead levels found in their cathode ray tubes (CRTs). CRTs are the video display components of televisions and computer monitors. Since they contain high levels of lead, cathode ray tubes in computers and televisions may pollute the environment if improperly disposed. Recycling, instead of landfilling, is the preferred method to handle e-scrap.
Electronic equipment from your home can be recycled. Examples of electronic equipment include: computers, televisions, VCRs, fax machines, CD players, and stereos.
For more information about disposing of electronic equipment, please contact Waste Pro at 407-774-0800 .

HELPFUL RECYCLING TIPS
- Please do NOT place any recyclables in plastic bags.
- Winter Park has single stream recycling, which means all clean recyclables may be placed together loosely in the same bin or cart.
- Separating newspapers is not required, but newspapers can be placed in brown paper bags (no plastic bags please).
- If your recycle bin is full, put excess recyclables into brown paper bags.
- Plastic bags and Styrofoam containers can be recycled at local grocery stores with designated recycling bins.
- Fluorescent light bulbs can be recycled at a major home improvement store.
- Place yard waste at the curb for the scheduled Wednesday pickup only. Please use a cart or can for loose cuttings and avoid using plastic bags. Paper yard waste bags are available at local hardware stores.
Did You Know?
Plastic bags are NOT recyclable in our single stream curbside pickup.
They clog the separating system and are the leading contamination issue that cause loads to end up in the landfill. Please do not put recyclables into plastic bags.
Paper or plastic? No thanks!
Take reusable bags with you every time you go shopping.
