Today at Germain Arena during the Wallace International “Ready to Roll” Event, Waste Pro, a regional solid waste services provider, formally signed an agreement to purchase two International DuraStar Hybrid chassis for use as recycling grapple trucks. These are believed to be the first ever Hybrid trucks designed for use in this application. Waste Pro Regional Vice President, Keith Banasiak signed the agreement on behalf of his company. International Trucks was represented by Mike Cicerchia and Wallace’s Sales Manager, Jim Boncosky signed on behalf of the selling dealer.
Among those in attendance for the signing were Lee County Commission Chairman, Ray Judah, State Representatives Gary Aubuchon and Garrett Richter and the Director of Keep Lee County Beautiful, Rudy Busch.
Banasiak stated that “this purchase signifies the commitment by Waste Pro to become the leader in the waste industry in performing their trucking operations with equipment that provide a positive impact on our environment and simultaneously reduce the use of imported fossil fuels. These Hybrid trucks mark the beginning of a trend that will, undoubtedly, lead to the extensive use of Hybrids in Waste Pro’s business.”
