Jerry Harrison began his career in the waste industry in 1993 at a regional solid waste company in Lawrenceville, GA, where he gained experience operating every type of collection vehicle within the fleet. He worked through the ranks of the division, being promoted to Lead Driver then Supervisor. In 2000, Harrison joined a national solid waste company in Lilburn, GA as a Facility Manager, then transferred to the company’s Doraville, GA facility as Manager.
In 2003, Jerry returned to Lawrenceville as Operations Manager for another solid waste company, where he supervised a staff of 150 employees. He then led the Gainesville, GA branch, until a national recycling & packaging company hired him in 2005 as the General Manager of their Georgia and Alabama divisions. From there, he was promoted to Regional Manager, a role in which he was responsible for the company’s Southeast hauling division, which included 125 employees and 15 facilities. In 2012, he accepted a year-long position as a consultant at a regional recycling company in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Harrison joined Waste Pro in 2014 as Division Manager in Athens, where he managed dozens of employees servicing more than 20,000 residential customers and more than 2,500 commercial customers in the Athens regional market. He has also led many community involvement initiatives, including a donation to the Walton County Sheriff’s Department for ballistic vests for its K9 deputies in August 2019.
In 2019, Harrison was promoted to Divisional Vice President in Georgia, leading Waste Pro’s divisions in Athens and Jasper/North Georgia.
