Alabama native Brian Wintjen has more than 40 years of experience in the waste industry. He began his career in Birmingham as a temporary driver for BFI after graduating from high school and has gone on to hold supervisor/manager positions with several major waste companies.
Brian spent nearly 20 years working for BFI as a district manager in Alabama, South Carolina, and Georgia. Throughout his time with the company, he managed offices with annual revenues ranging from $4.8 million to $50 million. He also managed new lines of business, including medical waste collection and incineration; broke district revenue and profit records; and received a ‘Crystal Can Award’ for Best Results in the Southern Region.
Additionally, Brian held the role of General Manager of Nature’s Calling Inc. in South Carolina, where he managed services including portable restrooms/restroom trailer rental service, residential and commercial hauling, and more.
Prior to joining Waste Pro, Brian was General Manager of Watson C&D in Archer, Florida, where he managed all operations for the hauling division, yard waste compost processing center, and construction and demolition landfill.
Brian joined Waste Pro in 2019 as the Regional Vice President of the North Florida region, which is comprised of seven divisions, in addition to a transfer station, a recycling facility, two landfills, and two CNG stations. He supervises the work of 280 employees who operate nearly 200 trucks each day, servicing more than 200,000 customers.
