
FANNING SPRINGS, FL – June 24th – In an industry where more than 6,000 accidents involving a solid waste truck occur every year, safety is paramount. In an effort to reduce the number of such accidents and reward employees for responsible behaviors, Waste Pro instituted a high profile Safety Award Program in 2004.
Waste Pro’s garbage truck driver, Lyndon Joshua, received the $10,000 Safety Award for flawless performance over the last three years. The check was presented to him a recent Cross City council meeting.
Lyndon, a Residential Route Driver, has been employed with Waste Pro since 2011 and is a resident of Chiefland, FL.
In order to receive the Safety Award, employees must maintain a spotless work record for three years, including excellent customer service, no accidents, no injuries, and no property damage, along with a well-kept truck and a positive attitude.
Unique to the waste collection and disposal industry, Waste Pro’s Safety Program has distributed more than $1 million in Safety Awards to their drivers since 2004.
