LONGWOOD, FL – February 19, 2018 – Sean Jennings, Waste Pro Sarasota-Bradenton Division Manager has received a national waste industry award. Jennings will formally be honored with Waste360’s annual 40 Under 40 award at the annual April conference in Las Vegas. Also known as the Rising Star Award, the program “honors the next generation of leaders shaping the future of the waste and recycling industry”.
Jennings, Division Manager for Waste Pro’s Sarasota-Bradenton Regional Operations and Recycling Facility is also a member of the Waste Pro Board of Directors. A third generation garbage man, he is the son of Waste Pro Founder/Chairman/CEO John Jennings, he has been exposed to every facet of the business throughout his life and more formally during his six years officially in the industry.
A graduate of the University of Alabama, he is a member of the Keep Manatee Beautiful Board and is participating in Waste Pro’s Inaugural Young Leaders Initiative class, making him the second member of that program to receive this honor.
“Sean’s waste collection, recycling, disposal and compressed natural gas refueling operation ranks number one out of Waste Pro’s 50 plus nine-state divisions. In 2017 Sean’s division opened a Regional Material Recovery Facility (MRF) at the Sarasota Operational Center. This MRF processes 2,000 tons of recycling per month. It’s a wonderful achievement for him to receive the 40 under 40 award; he holds the key to a bright future,” states Keith Banasiak, Waste Pro Regional Vice President of Southwest Florida. The Sarasota-Bradenton Division is a local economic builder with more than 100 employees serving 100,000 residential and 2,000 commercial customers.
All 40 Under 40 Award recipients will be recognized during a reception held during the industry’s annual conference Waste Expo. In 2016, Tracy Meehan, a Waste Pro Municipal Marketing Manager, who is a Sarasota Leadership graduate also received the honor.
