COLLIER COUNTY, FL – October 22, 2024—The Collier County Board of Commissioners appointed Waste Pro Division Manager Jimmy Nieves to the Immokalee Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) and the Immokalee Beautification Municipal Service Taxing Unit (MSTU) Advisory Committee. In this role, Jimmy will be involved in preplanning for local development and construction projects. The Collier County CRA covers two redevelopment areas: the Bayshore Gateway Triangle Community Redevelopment Area and the Immokalee Community Redevelopment Area. The Community Redevelopment Plan guides all local redevelopment efforts.
Joining Waste Pro in 2018, Jimmy began his career as a supervisor and progressed to Operations Manager for the Ft. Myers Division under the direction of Division Vice President Bill Jones. The Collier and Lee County markets have experienced tremendous growth, bringing two new divisions to the West Coast of Florida – Collier County and Lehigh Acres- and the acquisition of A&D Recycling.
Jimmy was tapped to lead the team in Collier County, where he has been Site Manager since 2021. Appointed to Division Manager for the same location in February of 2024, Jimmy oversees solid waste and recycling services for more than 9,000 customers, supervises over 15 employees, and manages 12 trucks in the Ave Maria and Immokalee areas. He has already made a mark in the local community, having recently been appointed to president of the Immokalee Eastern Chamber of Commerce.
