ALACHUA, FL – February 22, 2022 – Waste Pro’s Dayna Miller, Director of Governmental Affairs in the Northeast Florida Region, has been recognized by the Alachua Business League (ABL) as a recipient of the Rosanne Morse ABLe Award. The award, which is a play on the initials of the ABL, honors active community members who have a great attitude and character:
- •A: Active in the community
- •B: Believes in others
- •L: Leads with style
The E thus exemplifies the ABL’s values.
Dayna, who is also a Commissioner for the City of Alachua, is heavily involved in organizations in the Alachua-Gainesville, FL area including the Alachua Lions Club and Keep Alachua County Beautiful, for which she currently serves as President and Vice President, respectively. She was named Lion of the Year by the Alachua Lions Club in 2020. She is also a current board member of Recycle Florida Today.
Dayna is also involved in the Kiwanis of Santa Fe and Lake City, the Gainesville Elks Lodge, the Florida State Elks Harry-Anna Trust Fund, the Gainesville Rotary, and various Chambers of Commerce across North Florida.
In 2012, Dayna spearheaded the creation of Waste Pro’s company-wide community watch program, Waste Pro-Tection, which allows Waste Pro drivers to alert first responders if they see suspicious activity or encounter an emergency while on their routes.
“Dayna is an extremely engaged leader in the Gainesville community,” said Northeast Florida Regional Vice President Brian Wintjen. “She fully embodies each of the ‘ABL’ traits and we’re proud to have her representing Waste Pro in the Northeast Florida metro market area.”
