During the month of April 2019, Waste Pro partnered with the Lee County, Florida Solid Waste Division, Library System, and Parks and Recreation Department, in addition to Henry Chapin Food Bank and Fox4, for the second annual ‘Donated not Wasted’ food rescue campaign. In total, more than 2,300 pounds of food was donated to families in need instead of being thrown in the trash.

‘Donated not Wasted’ is aimed at people who live in Southwest Florida during the Winter season and are returning to their homes elsewhere and may have leftover food.

Waste Pro provided 16 new collection containers to collect donated food at more than a dozen locations across the county over the span of April 8-April 22. Many locations received donations well into May.
