CEDAR KEY, FL – Waste Pro’s motto is Caring for Our Communities, which extends to all areas of the community and our commitment to continually exploring environmentally friendly options and ideas.
Further exemplifying this commitment, we have partnered with the Cedar Key Lions Club to extend this mission beyond our walls and launch a Sustainability Scholarship program to recognize local youth who promote environmentally-responsible practices within their communities while maintaining excellent academic performance.
Noah Webster, the valedictorian of the Cedar Key School’s class of 2016, who will be attending Florida State University in the fall, received the first Waste Pro and Cedar Key Lions Club Sustainability Scholarship award on June 4th, during his graduation ceremony. By leading environmental protection programs and advocacy initiatives he has significantly contributed to the city’s efforts towards sustainability.
“He is a wonderful representative for his school and the community of Cedar Key,” said Waste Pro Municipal Marketer, Dayna Miller, who presented the award to Noah. “He surely deserves this scholarship for his commitment and the leadership skills that he has shown.”
