FT. MYERS, FL – May 24, 2022 – Waste Pro Ft. Myers Driver Steve Pender has earned his first $10,000 Safety Award for his safe driving habits.
Steve, who has been with Waste Pro for four years, received his award with a celebratory breakfast last week. He services multiple routes in the Ft. Myers market and often volunteers to work community cleanups and other special projects.
To earn Waste Pro’s coveted $10,000 Safety Award, drivers must go three years without an at-fault accident, injury, or property damage, keep their truck clean, and have a strong attendance record. Since the program’s inception in 2004, more than 500 drivers have earned the award – many of whom have earned it multiple times – totaling approximately $7 million in Safety Awards.
“Steve is a true Waste Pro, and I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this recognition,” said Divisional Vice President Bill Jones. “He has a great attitude and is one of our hardest workers. I am proud to have him represent us in Ft. Myers.”
