School just started for students in Southwest Florida when residents who lived nearby moved out of their home, leaving a mess next to a bus stop for elementary school students and hindering drivers’ views. The mess sat in the Cape Coral neighborhood for days before local news station NBC2 called the Ft. Myers Waste Pro office.
“We put our heads together and determined the best thing to do would be to get that stuff picked up right away, even though it wasn’t the normally scheduled day,” said Bill Jones, Division Manager of Waste Pro’s Ft. Myers Division. “We cleaned everything up to make sure kids were safe.”
Waste Pro staff picked up the trash within a few hours of the call.
As a reminder to our Cape Coral residents, the city partners with Waste Pro to hold a bulk item drop-off every three months.
