The following is a letter from our Fanning Springs Division Manager to our Founder and CEO, John Jennings, about a driver who is working on building a better life for his family — with the help of Waste Pro.
Good morning Mr. Jennings,
I wanted to share a Waste Pro Co-Heart Program success story with you…
Edgar Nieves moved from Puerto Rico a couple of years ago, looking to provide a better life for him and his family. He started with us as a temp on the back of a truck, and his work ethic stood out immediately. He came early every day with a desire to be the best he could be at his job.
We brought him on full-time in November 2017. He learned every route he could and expressed the desire to get his CDL, so we showed him the Co-Heart Program which could help him achieve that goal. Since he primarily speaks Spanish, I contacted Corporate Operations Trainer Robert Bourcheau to see what we could do to transcend the language barrier; Robert immediately said he could handle it.
Robert took Edgar under his wing and had him come to Sanford every Saturday for several weeks to prep for his test. Edgar never once complained about going down because this was his opportunity to continue to make a better life for his family. On May 11th, Edgar went to Sanford to take his test. He passed with flying colors thanks to his hard work and Robert’s tutelage. Once he was approved to get his own route, he hit the ground running. He is truly someone that does it the Waste Pro way and is the Distinguishable Difference.
Edgar was recently able to buy a new car for his family with the money he has saved up and is now currently working on a down payment for a house. Edgar is a shining example of what you can do with hard work and the tools Waste Pro provides to make a better life. I can’t thank you enough for making the Co-Heart program available to everyone with the desire and work ethic to make a better life for themselves and their family.
Edgar is living the American dream and we are very proud to be a part of the Waste Pro family helping to make it happen for him.
Best regards,
Trip Lancaster
