PUTNAM COUNTY, FL – February 14, 2023 – Waste Pro Helper Terrace Kemp at the Putnam County Division earned his second $5,000 Safety Award. He was presented with a large check and treated to a BBQ lunch as a thank-you.
Since the program’s inception in 2004, approximately $7.4 million has been awarded to drivers and helpers who are committed to safety and the service they provide to communities throughout our footprint. To date, more than 740 drivers and 97 helpers have earned the coveted awards, some of whom have earned them multiple times.
“Terrace exemplifies safety and service. Recognizing great employees like Terrace for safe operations is an honor,” said Brian Wintjen, Regional Vice President of Wase Pro of North Florida.
Jimmy Cinelli adds, “Working with Terrace is great. He is reliable, professional, and comes to work every day with a smile. He does not cut corners and makes sure to follow all the safety guidelines. His customers love him and he’s a true Pro.”
Safety is paramount in an industry where thousands of accidents involving solid waste trucks occur every year. Employees earn the Waste Pro Safety Award after three years of a spotless work record, excellent customer service, no accidents, or property damage, no unsafe work practices, a positive attitude, good attendance record, and a well-kept truck.
