ORLANDO, FL – October 31, 2019 – To mark the 10th anniversary of Waste Pro’s Laptops for Veterans program, Waste Pro is proud to donate eight brand new Microsoft Surface Pro laptops to the Orlando VA Medical Center (OVAMC) and the Lake Baldwin VA Outpatient Clinic. The laptops were given during a ceremony on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at the OVAMC.
Waste Pro began the Laptops for Veterans program in 2009 and has since made donations to military facilities across the country, including Alabama, Florida, Mississippi, Georgia, and the Carolinas. In addition, Waste Pro has made donations to organizations including Wounded Warriors, Patriot Express Foundation, and Crossroads Corral.
As part of its commitment to “caring for our communities,” Waste Pro created the Laptops for Veterans program to provide wounded members of the military and their families with new computers that can be used to communicate with loved ones during recovery, for education enhancement and personal development, and to research current events.
“Many of our own team members are Veterans, so this is a cause that is near and dear to our hearts,” said Waste Pro President Sean Jennings. “We’re honored to give back to the brave men and women who have risked their lives to protect our country.”
Funding for the laptops comes from Waste Pro employees who regularly contribute to the Laptop for Veterans program.
