For the second consecutive year, the Southeast Louisiana Clean Fuel Partnership has recognized Waste Pro as one of the top Clean Fleet leaders in the region. Waste Pro was selected for its efforts to reduce traditional fuel consumption “through the use of alternative fuels, fuel-saving technologies, and innovative transportation programs.”
In 2011, Waste Pro invested $100 million in compressed natural gas (CNG) powered collection and recycling trucks, which provide an eco-friendly alternative to diesel fuel by reducing emissions. Waste Pro now has seven CNG fueling stations and more than 300 CNG trucks in its fleet across its ten-state footprint.
Louisiana Divisional Vice President Jesse Murphy accepted a certificate honoring Waste Pro in July.
The Southern Louisiana Clean Fuel Partnership is a part of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Clean Cities Coalition, which “collaborates with federal agencies, fuel providers, industry associations, equipment manufacturers, and large companies whose vehicle fleets operate in multiple states.”
