The 48th annual Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals, the NHRA East Coast opener, was contested March 16-19 at Gainesville Raceway in Gainesville, Fla. While both events featured heart-pounding competition in three of NHRA’s professional categories: the 10,000-horsepower, nitro-fueled Top Fuel dragster and Funny Car classes, along with the 200-mph Pro Stock category, the Gatornationals also serves as the season opener for the NHRA Mello Yello Series Pro Stock Motorcycle category and the J&A Service Pro Mod category.
