February 7, 2011—Waste Pro USA is rolling into 2011 with the acquisition of ten waste services companies in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. “Waste Pro is significantly expanding our footprint throughout the South, both organically and by acquiring companies with our culture”, stated John J. Jennings, Waste Pro President and CEO.
In North Central Florida, Waste Pro acquired the residential, recycling and commercial solid waste operations of Alternative Waste Services (AWS) of Ocala. The purchase included roll-off and front and rear load trucks, containers as well as administrative offices and maintenance facilities. All employees joined Waste Pro.
In Northeast Florida, Waste Pro acquired Container Services, LLC of Jacksonville. Container Services is a commercial roll-off company and the purchase included roll-off and grapple trucks as well as containers.
The purchase of Green Key Environmental Solutions of Miami represents Waste Pro’s first acquisition in the organic waste industry. Green Key manufactures Bio-Waste Disposal products with large scale applications in the U.S. to the food processing, restaurant, and disposal industries as well as the home and construction market (www.green-key.net). Also in Miami, Waste Pro acquired the Dade County commercial and roll-off operations and equipment of Eastern Wastes Services serving Dade County.
In Georgia, Waste Pro has entered into an agreement to acquire the recycling and processing operations of Greenstar Recycling of Atlanta. Simultaneously Waste Pro entered into an exclusive marketing agreement for Georgia.
In Birmingham, Alabama, Waste Pro is now serving the City of Jemison and entered into an agreement to acquire C&D Ltd, LLC. C&D primarily serves commercial customers in South Birmingham. The acquisition includes both roll-off and front load trucks. Waste Pro has rapidly grown in the Greater Birmingham area since opening a state of the art recycling facility in 2010 that supports the residential and commercial solid waste operations.
In Mississippi, Waste Pro purchased two Class 1 construction and debris landfills near Meridian, Mississippi. In DeKalb, Mississippi Waste Pro now owns and operates the former Kemper County municipal solid waste landfill.
In Louisiana, Waste Pro is in the final stages of a purchase agreement for the operations of Pelican Commercial Waste Services of Belle Chase, Louisiana in the Greater New Orleans area. The acquisition includes front load and roll-off trucks.
Waste Pro is also expanding organically by consistently winning large residential and commercial service contracts. These contracts have resulted in new operating divisions in Concord, North Carolina; Jackson, Mississippi and New Orleans. Waste Pro now has 500 operating locations in seven states.
