Transfer stations are facilities where solid wastes can be delivered and stored for further future transportation to a landfill. They are government approved and regulated facilities. Landfills are the final disposal site for solid wastes and as with transfer stations are government approved and regulated facilities. Strict environmental controls and rules are in place for both transfer stations and landfills.
