Welcome, Buncombe County Residents
Waste Pro is a company dedicated to building exceptional resource ecosystems that protect the environment and sustain our communities. Our company was founded in 2001 with three key objectives: to deliver excellent service, maximize recycling and establish cost savings for our customers—and those principles continue to underpin our business today. We are one of the fastest-growing waste management companies in the southern United States with an established network of industry professionals who are able to design and deliver complete waste management services that work regardless of location or waste type. This means we are able to offer local expertise, conduct on-site training, and carry out specialized services.
Locally, Waste Pro’s team consists of approximately 80 staff members operating 55 trucks, serving more than 42,000 residential customers and 2,000 commercial customers in the area.
How does Waste Pro serve Buncombe County?
- Waste Pro has invested almost $19 million dollars in Buncombe County facilities and equipment all to provide YOU with the service you deserve.
- Waste Pro is committed to the communities it serves which is why we buy locally, hire locally and spend locally. This includes utilizing Buncombe County’s new transfer station for all county waste, with plans to double the current volume processed there from Waste Pro, making us its largest customer.
- Buncombe County, with its mountainous terrain, has waste service challenges. Waste Pro has responded to these unique situations by adapting equipment to suit the demands of the area.
- Waste Pro prides itself on being a partner to Buncombe County by participating in local events and organizations such as Leadership Asheville, the annual Smokey Mountain Toy Run, and MANNA FoodBank, since our team is not only service providers for the community, but also residents of the community.
Waste Pro Service Enhancement Plan for Buncombe County
Waste Pro serves the metropolitan Asheville area and Buncombe County from a regional operations center in Arden. We have invested more than $18.7 million in the 5 acre complex with a staff of more than 70 drivers, helpers and administrative support personnel.
Solid waste and recycling services are available to all residents of Buncombe County and is a separate service requiring subscription service costing residents less than 50 cents per day.
Communications
Waste Pro’s goal is to have a “one-stop” shop to efficiently manage customer issues. We will ensure the messages left on voicemail are returned within a timely manner. We will also ensure email requests for service and other inquiries receive prompt attention.
Waste Pro is partnering with Buncombe County Officials to provide clear messaging concerning the solid waste collection policies and practices within the County and how residents can obtain new service.
Operations
Waste Pro deployed 9 auditors to follow our trucks and ensure they have accurate data on who is/isn’t a current customer. Audits are occurring on garbage/solid waste routes first and will then progress to recycling routes.
Equipment
Waste Pro has invested in cutting edge technology to enhance our service documentation with the use of geographic coordinates for every customer. The new system utilizes Air Track, which tracks the activity of our collection vehicles, including the capability to record service data using both GPS coordinates and a video camera system on every vehicle.
Waste Pro has purchased five (5) C3500 four-wheel drive trucks with 8-yard tipping beds to service narrower roads and hard to reach rural areas, eliminating the need for piling garbage at the corners of neighborhoods.
